Holiday Hack:  Giving Thanks

As Hanukkah gets underway and Christmas inches closer day by day, there are two mantras we abide by in our home:
(1) You must always write a handwritten thank you note – mailed via snail mail – for a gift received;
(2) Best to write the notes as you receive the gifts (easier to do during Hanukkah than Christmas, I admit!) in order to avoid the pile-up of thank you’s after.

Life Hack #92: Write Handwritten Thank You Notes

(For kids’ birthdays, we often require opening one gift/writing one note before opening the next gift to keep everyone honest.)

Most important, especially when giving thanks in the digital age, the simple act of writing a handwritten acknowledgment demonstrates thoughtfulness and gratitude, and may even inspire surprise and delight.

On that note, as this year comes to a close, I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to all my loyal readers.  I hope you have enjoyed reading my hacks as much as I have enjoyed sharing them with you.

And, since no good deed goes unpunished, I would be remiss in not reminding you that it’s never too late to give the gift of hacks this Holiday Season! Find the books here:
