Alyssa Rapp is the Chief Executive Officer of Empower Aesthetics, a portfolio company of Shore Capital Partners, where she has also served on the board of directors since its inception. As of August 2021, Alyssa was the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Healthwell Acquisition Corp. I, a $250 million special purpose acquisition corporation that successfully IPO’d on NASDAQ. Prior to Healthwell, she served as the CEO of Surgical Solutions from 2018 to 2021, a B2B healthcare services company that provides non-clinical surgical services to hospitals, under the ownership of Chicago-based private equity firm Sterling Partners. During her tenure, she led a successful turnaround of the business, achieving 21% sales growth and 90% customer retention.
Since 2014, Alyssa has been a lecturer-in-management at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago’s Booth Business School since 2019. From 2005 to 2015, she was the founder and CEO of Bottlenotes, Inc., an interactive media company recognized as a leader in the U.S. wine, craft beer, and artisanal spirits industries. She also served as Managing Partner of AJR Ventures from 2015 to 2017, advising family offices and private equity firms on digital and e-commerce strategies.
Alyssa is the author of the Amazon bestseller, Leadership and Life Hacks: Insights from a Mom, Wife, Entrepreneur & Executive (ForbesBooks, October 2019). She earned a B.A. in Political Science and the History of Art from Yale University in 2000 and an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 2005.
When not immersed in business and civic life, Alyssa loves to Peloton, do yoga, ski fast, and try to decipher a slider from a curve ball from her husband, Hal Morris, a 1990 MLB World Series champion and current partner at X10 Capital. Alyssa and Hal are the proud parents of Audrey Margaret and Henriette Daniella Morris.
