Hacks for Mother’s Day
- Life Hack #68: Multitasking is not a choice; it’s a necessity.
This doesn’t mean only being half-present for your kids. It means finding ways to pair up tasks that work well together—engaging your kids in meal prep, talking to Grandma on the drive to school, etc.—and making your children active participants. Have open conversations with your kids about what they love and enjoy as a way of giving them ownership of the activities you do together.
- Leadership Hack #48: Showing up matters (Mother’s Day Edit).
Though you may not be able to celebrate this day with your loved ones in person, stay creative about how to do so digitally. Schedule coffee chats, virtual play dates, or meals over Zoom–it’s your effort and presence (albeit on a screen) that count.
- Life Hack #77:Sometimes people need an excuse to have fun. Your job is to give it.
In these strange times, many of us are feeling exhausted from a waterfall of video calls and hours spent at home. In tandem with the hacks above, don’t forget to leverage technology to kick back, let loose, and invite guests to have a great time. Whether you’re throwing a virtual trivia night, a Zoom karaoke bash, or a Hangouts wine tasting (scroll down for more on that!)—never hesitate to be the arbiter of fun.
