I love tea. English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Sencha Green Tea (my favorite green), Matcha, and more. I think I am one of the easiest people in the world for whom to shop given my love of high-end consumables like tea, honey, and wine.)
 
I also agree with iconic British author Henry James that “there are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.”
 
In short, it’s the late afternoon event where tea is served along with sandwiches, in the meal that is supposed to “hold you over” between lunch and a later-served dinner. As such, Champagne is often also poured.
 
Given my love of this rich tradition (albeit one that started in 19^th century England versus earlier as many assume), and love of enjoying it with girlfriends in Chicago, NYC, London- you name it! -I thought I would share my favorite spots for high tea in the years before and (thankfully) after the Covid lockdowns:
