#IndependenceDayHacks
It’s July 4th and our family is already looking forward to spending time in the water, by the grill, seeing fireworks, and sipping “Red, White, and Bubbles.” In the spirit of July 4th, here are four #July4thHacks for you to enjoy this week! |
(1) DIY Flags
We always enjoy making DIY flags – In addition to hanging them outside of our home. If you have several corks around, this DIY flag cork board is awesomely patriotic.
(2) Red, white, and blue fruit and vegetable platters
My favorite platters for the 4th include flags made of blueberries, strawberries, and Cool Whip. Red, white, and blue fruit skewers are delicious, too!
(3) Drink all things American wine….including bubbles!
There are SOOO many delicious American wines – for this summer, I’ve been enjoying all things rose this summer so far. Local favorites include: En Route Rose by Far Niente Wine Estates and Sparkling Rose in a Can by Maker Wine.
For all things fireworks and sparkling wine, I recommend the following American sparklers:
Four All-American Sparkling Wines to Try this July 4th:
(MI) L. Mawby Brut Rose Sparkling Wine – I’ve enjoyed sparkling wines from Northern Michigan for over 15 years- and Larry Mawby’s remains absolutely best in class from the Leelanau Peninsula. $25/bottle. Find it here.
(CA) IronHorse Brut – All the sparkling wines from Yalie Joy Sterling family’s vineyard are tremendous. Find them here.
(CA) J Vineyards – another one of Sonoma’s iconic sparkling wine producers. Find it here.
(OR) Brooks Winery – Extended tirage riesling. One-of-a-kind bone-dry sparkling riesling from my favorite Oregon winery. Find it here.
Cheers to a fireworks-filled, sparkling Independence Day!
