#60

The great Hal Morris turned 60 on April 9, 2025. In addition to a surprise celebration, which miraculously remained a surprise, one of the most memorable aspects of Hal’s milestone was a beautiful song whose lyrics were written by my Aunt Ellie and cousin Jocelyn in true Menko Family tradition. Those lyrics are below. Rather than wax poetically on how much I love my husband, what a wonderful father he is to our two daughters, what an impressive human being on several dimensions, I think I’ll let the lyrics do the talking.

My love, you wear 60 well!!

Cheers to the next milestone ~

To the Tune of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”
Written with love and happy birthday wishes from Ellie Hartog and Jocelyn Stanton.

Hal’s our man at age 60,
He’s the guy we all cheer!
From Munster to Michigan, a player unique.
Time in the pros: known for his hitting streak!
Then at Stanford, he met Alyssa,
She keeps him running full speed.
As he scouts for promising players
On the road or on TV!

Go Blue, Go Audrey and Hettie:
His favorite athletes to date!
He travels the country to watch them shine,
Keeping the pony and coaches in line.
And he roots, roots, root for his golf game
(Some days are tough on the tee),
But at home, his true love awaits:
It’s Yoda the MVP!
